April 29, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting

  • Permits have been issued for Operations and Warehouse building foundations.
  • Washtenaw County Road Commission is reviewing truck traffic signs.
  • Walbridge has submitted updated temporary lighting specifications and a layout plan. Additional updates are requested, including confirmation that non-compliant lights will be taken off-site.
  • WCWRC received notification that the EGLE Groundwater and Geological Services Section was presented with a request for additional dewatering measures from the property owner. On April 24, 2026, a determination letter was issued by EGLE stating “... determined that the withdrawal is not likely to cause an ARI...” ARI is adverse resource impact. The issued Site-Specific Review (SSR) # 10188-20264-23 which authorizes for a withdrawal capacity of 681 gallons per minute. The withdrawal has been verified as a 100% return flow to the Saline River watershed. Discussions with the owner were confirmed that dewatering allowed in this permit will be segmented to what is necessary for the utility trench installation work.

April 15, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting

  • Virtually met with Walbridge and Related to discuss ongoing traffic and lighting concerns and violations.
  • Reviewed the township’s lighting ordinance with Walbridge and Related with the understanding that the new temporary lighting has been ordered with mid-May delivery and installation. Requested the specifications and a map detailing the locations for the new temporary lights to meet compliance and for the permitting process.
  • Discussed options for informing contractors about approved routes and obtaining permits from WCRC for signs at 33 locations at the township boundary.
  • Walbridge confirmed state police will patrol 8 hours per day, 4 days per week.
  • Walbridge indicated bathroom lights will be covered that evening and they will review procedure to ensure all lights are out at the end of the day.
  • Dewatering for utility installations continue as a movable trench pump specific to where underground work is taking place. Discharge locations have followed the permitted County Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control (SESC) BMP’s and being routinely observed by F&V and WCWRC staff.

April 1, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting

  • No significant updates.
  • Weather siren will be installed on site. Township will request information about testing/alert information to post on website. Walbridge has been notifying nearby property owners.

March 18, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Construction updates:
    • Finished Compute 1 pylons. Utility and foundation work is underway.
    • About 60% of gravel hauling is complete. Hauling will wind down in April.
    • Traffic control signs are fabricated, but permits have not been issued by Washtenaw County.
    • Concrete batch plant is expected to be operational by early April.
  • A geotechnical and hydrogeological investigation is underway, and a report is expected in 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Tornado and lighting sirens will be built on site. Township will publish an announcement so residents in the surrounding area are aware of how the siren will be used and tested.
  • Friday, March 13: Complaints about entrance lights in the evening. Walbridge confirmed that lights were left on. Walbridge will review on-site protocols to ensure lights are turned off.
  • Township will review on-site lighting equipment, locations, and scheduled construction hours.

February 18, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Township has requested a proposal from a sound engineering firm to conduct plan review and potential post-construction evaluation.
  • Discussion about third-party commissioning inspections, applicable standards, and agencies that may have jurisdiction.
  • Hydrogeologic specialist with Township's engineering consultants will be evaluating water well reports.
  • Discussion about noise complaint from previous meeting, follow-up inspections.

February 4, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Cement truck traffic will increase to pour concrete batch plant pad and building foundations. Notice will be published on Township website homepage.
  • The Township had received a noise complaint about early hours construction activity.
  • Reviewed Consent Judgement deadlines for submittal of Farmland Preservation funds, Community Investment funds, and fire department funds.
  • Discussed Township options to establish Farmland Preservation Trust and other preservation initiatives.

January 21, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Discussion about temporary and permanent wells, and monitoring wells. Draw-down tests should be performed on all wells prior to operation. Permits have been obtained for monitoring wells.
  • Developers must provide matrix of anticipated batch plant water use.
  • EGLE has issued wetlands permits and permits to install generators.

January 7, 2026 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Township received complaints about dirt being tracked onto US 12 from site approaches. Both the Township and Washtenaw County Soil Erosion Control have raised this issue with the developers and are requiring remediation. To address the problem the developers shut down site on January 9th and 10th, vacuumed the truck tire wash troughs, are getting a second sweeper truck on site, and are applying new stone and lime stabilization on the approaches and access drives.
  • Several incidents of trucks using roads other than US 12. Township officials and Township Attorney have raised this issue with Walbridge. Township is keeping records of companies using other roads. One company was dismissed from the project after repeated violations.
  • Developers have agreed to install truck traffic direction signs at US 12 and Willow, Case, Braun, and McCollum.

December 10, 2025 Advisory Committee Meeting Updates & Discussion

  • Discussion about content to post on Township website.
  • Complaints about crane on Braun Road.
  • Trucks were staged on shoulder of Michigan Ave. Addressed with developers, issue was trucks could not get into the site.
  • DTE Trucks in church parking lot/Case Road. Address with DTE Rep.
  • Several complaints about glare from construction trailer entrance lights. Addressed by developers.
