December 14, 2009
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on December 14, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Mr. R. Prehn and Mr. R. Marion.10 other citizens were present.
- Mr. R. Prehn
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. R. Prehn
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon that the agenda be approved as
presented.
- Mrs. Judy
Gordon moved, supported by Mr. R. Marion, that the consent agenda
be approved as presented.
- Approve
minutes from November 9 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $14,655.28.
-
Approve 3rd quarter payroll of $17,425.00.
- Approve
bill to WCRD for second coat of brine and money spent from
the Road Millage dollars in the amount of $89,123.62.
- Declined
participation - The River Raisin Watershed Council.
- Saline
Area Fire Department 3rd quarter operating in the amount of
$21,405.64.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. No citizen comments.
- State Police
tried to attend they were called away. Mr. R. Prehn will obtain
a list of calls each month from the state police and present it
at the board's regular meetings.
- Dakota Oil
- Questions were answered from both the township attorney (Fred
Lucas) and Dakota Oil as to the leases that were presented to
the board for all three cemeteries and the township hall. A motion
was made by Mrs. Judy Gordon and supported by Mr. Robert Marion
to sign the leases with final approval from the Fred Lucas, the
townships attorney. 5 Ayes 0 Nays.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- Fred
Lucas - attended to answer questions with regards to Dakota
Oil. Township signing a five year lease with Dakota Oil that
is not renewable as long as they are not pumping oil. No work
will be done on any of the parcels that are being leased.
- Board
of Review will meet on December 15th for their yearly meeting.
- Zoning report
- Brian Bower and Mr. R Marion will work together to see that
the necessary permits are pulled for the concrete that's being
hauled into Mr. Bower's home.
A saline Township resident whose home is located on Mooreville
Road is need of clean up. A previous injunction is being looked
into by the township attorney to see if it's still in effect.
Several falling barns are located within the township; the board
is considering sending letters to these residences asking them
to be taken care of within a time frame of twenty four months.
- Trustees
report - Come the first of the year Supervisor Marion, Fred Lucas
(Saline Township Attorney) and Chuck Rankin (Planning Commission
Chair Person) will meet to go over the current Master Plan and
Zoning Ordinance.
- Township
hall manager report - Mr. Gumtow supplied the board with estimates
to have the township hall painted however the board has decided
to take care of the grading problem around the building which
is causing water to enter the basement from time to time. Clean
up for the township will take place in June this year, an official
date to follow.
- Board Member
Comments - Mrs. Gordon and Mrs. Marion reported that at this time
Bridgewater, Lodi and Freedom Township are not involved or have
any plans to be involved with the wild pigs that appear to getting
out at the corner of Saline Waterworks and Parker, residence need
to contact the DNR at this point. Mr. J. Marion mentioned that
the City of Saline will be sending the money for Act 425 that
we currently have with them regarding Huntington Woods. Mr. Robert
Marion moved and was supported by Mr. Robert Prehn that Mrs. Gordon
move forward with having tax information placed on the Saline
Township web site through a company called BS&A. Ayes 5 Nays
0. Supervisor Marion reported that mowers have been dumped over
the bridge located in York Township off Pennington Road; this
per the Greenway Alliance.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:35 pm.
