January 14, 2008
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on January 14, 2008 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Four other citizens were present.
- Mr. Bohnett
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the agenda be approved with
the following change: 5d. Additional accounts payable of $332.07
for office supplies. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved
as corrected.
- Approve
minutes from December 10 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Decline
2008 River Raisin Watershed Council Dues $260.40.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $28,318.41.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. No comments.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- MDOT
responded to our request for a light at the end of Marion
Road and U.S. 12. They will not provide any financial help;
Township may put a light there following all of their specifications.
MDOT is responsible for a green road sign like the Dell Road
sign.
- PDR
resolution will be presented and discussed at the February
meeting.
- MTA
reports that a Planning Commission only has to meet at a minimum
of 4 meetings per year. Possible future discussion of cutting
back on monthly Planning Commission meetings; possibility
of every other month. Discussion of also changing the fee
schedule for the up coming fiscal year.
- Mrs.
Baldus read an e-mail from James McFarland on the Wireless
Washtenaw discussion that was held at the Lodi Township Hall
December 18, 2007.
- Township
Engineer, Dan Cabage, reported that the waste water permit
for Austin Commons II has finally been issued. Some minor
repairs located within the new Condo site will be address
with the developer. Additional paperwork was received from
the Clerk regarding Township gravel pits.
- Washtenaw
County Commissioner, Jessica Ping, will be present at the
March meeting.
- Motion by
Mr. Bohnett, supported by Mrs. Baldus, to support Resolution 2008-001,
Adopt New Saline Township Zoning Ordinance Text. Roll call was
taken. Ayes: Baldus, Bohnett, Gordon, J. Marion and R. Marion.
Nays: None. Absent: None. Resolution Passed.
- Trustees
reported that the Planning Commission by laws were not passed
at the last monthly meeting but will be addressed again in February.
Numerous road complaints were addressed and completed by Washtenaw
County Road Commission.
- No Zoning/Building
Administrator report.
- Fireboard
reported that there will be a meeting in February to elect the
at large position.
- Township
Hall Manager reported that the outside corner bulb has been replaced.
- Annual clean
up date still needs to be determined and posted on the web page.
Primary election will be tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:05 pm.
