July 9, 2007

  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on July 9, 2007 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees Bohnett; absent Trustee R. Marion. Ten other citizens were present.

  3. Mr. Bohnett led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. Bohnett moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the agenda be approved as presented. Ayes: 4. Nays: 0. Motion carried.

  5. Mrs. Gordon moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the consent agenda be approved as presented.
    1. Approve minutes from June 11 regular meeting and June 26 special meeting.
    2. Receive Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approve Accounts Payable in the amount of $39,748.81.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. No Comments.

  7. Supervisor Marion commented on the following:
    1. Next Special Meeting regarding Biltmore litigation is Thursday July 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.
    2. Recycle Coordinator, Mary Gumtow, reported briefly that recycling participants are following the dumpster recycling rules better and no contamination fees have been reported.
    3. Township Engineer, Dan Cabage, briefly reported that the Austin Commons II Condominium project is still on hold until MDEQ gathers permits and fines from Mr. Mark Lewis. Condominium building project is getting closer to starting up again.


  8. Motion by Mr. Bohnett, supported by Mrs. Gordon to accept Ordinance 2007-01 Saline Township Fire, Ambulance and Inhalator Fee. Ayes: 4. Nays: 0. Motion and Ordinance carried.

  9. Motion by Mrs. Baldus, supported by Mr. Bohnett, to accept Resolution 2007-002 Amend Operating Agreement with Saline Fire Department. Roll call was taken. Ayes: Baldus, Bohnett, Gordon, and J. Marion. Nays: None. Absent: R. Marion. Resolution Passed.

  10. Trustees reported Mr. Pennington delivered new Master Plan maps for Wednesdays Planning Commission meeting. There is very little change from the maps that were presented to the Public on Special Joint Meeting April 26th, 2007.

  11. No Zoning/Building Administrator report.

  12. Fireboard Meeting report consisted of the following:
    Mrs. Gordon moved, supported by, Mr. Bohnett to accept the amended operating percentages and to amend Saline Townships Operating Budget to reflect the items listed below.

    1. Amended Operating Percentages
      Lodi 31.51% to 31.39%
      Saline 11.50% to 11.45%
      York 19.06% to 19.36%
      City of Saline 37.93% to 37.80%.
    2. Saline Township Operating savings of $372.
    3. Saline Township Capital Improvements savings of $63.

  13. Township Hall Manager reported everything is running smooth.

  14. No Board Member comments.

  15. The meeting adjourned at 7:56 pm.
