July 13, 2009

  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on July 13, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustee's R. Marion & R. Prehn. Three other citizens were present.

  3. Mr. R. Prehn led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. R. Prehn moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon that the agenda be approved as presented.

  5. Mr. R. Prehn moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved as presented.
    1. Approved minutes from June 8th regular meeting.
    2. Received Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approved Accounts Payable in the amount of $40,829.45.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. Phil Gordon questioned the current use of some of the home occupations within the township. Board members commented that some are grandfathered in and others fall under the current ordinance. Neil Bohnett representing the Planning Commission informed the board that the Haunted House for Kurt and Kim Rose was approved. Antique Car Restoration for Carl Girbach was turned down. Planning Commission looking into information that could be added to our current ordinance with regards to home occupations. Findings will then be brought to the board for review.

  7. Supervisor Marion commented on the following:
    1. Road Committee - Board is asking the committee to bring several options (spot or length repair) to the table so that the Board can best decide on how the dollars will be spent. Board hopes to see something at the August 10th meeting.
    2. Crown Castle Cell Tower - See number 8 Dan Cabage.

  8. Dan Cabage - Crown Castle Cell Tower should have permit by July 14th and work completed by July 17th. A motion was made by Robert Prehn and supported by Robert Marion that the Board internally set up a separate project number with Benesch/Dan Cabage for smaller projects and or questions regarding any engineering with the township. Having this project number already in place will expedite these projects in a timely manner.

  9. State Police - Did not attend.

  10. Trustees Report -No report.

  11. Zoning/Building Administrator - No report.

  12. Fireboard Report - No report.

  13. Township Hall Report - No report

  14. Board Member Comments - Judy Gordon commented that there was a malfunction with the computer system with regards to the current tax bills however it has been resolved. Jim Marion -16 tables and 145 chairs were accounted for
