Special Meeting
June 26, 2006
- A Special
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
James Marion on June 26, 2006 at 7:40pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Saline Township Attorney Fred Lucas was
also present.
- Mr. Bohnett
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Motion by
Mr. R. Marion, supported by Mrs. Gordon, to accept agenda as presented.
Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Attorney
Fred Lucas briefly explained Resolution R2006-008, Reject Responsibility
for Sanitary Sewer Systems. Motion by Mrs. Baldus, supported by
Mr. J. Marion, to accept the rejection of Responsibility for the
Sanitary Sewer Systems as stated in Resolution 2006-008. Roll
call was taken. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Resolution adopted.
- Mrs. Baldus
briefly explained that the Townships Cemetery Ordinance needs
to have a Perpetual Care Fund according to MTA. Motion by Mr.
Bohnett, supported by Mr. R. Marion, to establish a Perpetual
Care Fund by reserving $100 of each cemetery lot sale. Ayes: 5.
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Saline Area
Greenway Alliance Representative Fred Stukenborg presented the
Alliance Charter and their purpose to help preserve the Saline
River. The Alliance is strictly an advisory group and will try
to integrate their ideas and thoughts with potential developers
that might be building homes near the Saline River. Motion by
Mr. Bohnett, supported by Mrs. Baldus to accept the Charted Document
from the Saline Area Greenway Alliance. Ayes: 5. Nays 0. Motion
carried.
- Mr. J. Marion
will be calling Mr. Don Pennington to see if he and his staff
can meet our future planning needs. Next month the Board will
proceed with search for new planners if Mr. Pennington is unable
to meet our needs.
- Mr. Robert
Prehn briefly talked about a meeting he attended. The seminar
was very informative about private wastewater systems. The Township
may want to further investigate their future needs regarding this
topic.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
