June 11, 2007
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Trustee
Robert Marion on June 11, 2007 at 7:35pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees Bohnett and
R. Marion; absent was Supervisor Marion. Five other citizens were
present.
- Mr. Bohnett
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the agenda be approved as
presented. Ayes: 4. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approve
minutes from May 14 regular meeting and May 29, June 4 and
June 7 special meetings.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $11,714.68.
- Approve
2nd qtr payroll of $16,927.97.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. No Comments.
- No Supervisor
Report.
- Motion by
Mrs. Gordon, supported by Mr. Bohnett to accept Supervisors recommendation
of Mr. Gary Luckhardt to fill the Planning Commission member seat
with a term expiring 12/31/07. Ayes: 4. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Motion by
Mrs. Baldus, supported by Mrs. Gordon, to designate 2 solid brine
applications and to rescind prior motion of Macon road project
designation. Ayes: 4. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Motion by
Mrs. Gordon, supported by Mr. Bohnett, to accept the new Dumping
Ordinance as presented. Roll call was taken. Ayes: Baldus, Bohnett,
Gordon, and R. Marion. Nays: None. Absent: J. Marion. Ordinance
Passed.
- No Trustees
report.
- Zoning/Building
Administrator reported Township Attorney is mailing letters to
residents that are not following registered vehicle policy.
- No Fireboard
Meeting report.
- Township
Hall Manager reported that another basement window needs replacement.
Weeds have been sprayed.
- Mrs. Gordon
commented that she has settled with the County. Mr. R. Marion
spoke that there is movement in Lansing to change procedures and
to possible have a Bill that will take away Township voting, tax
collection and assessing. All would be happening at the County
level in effect would hurt Townships. Mr. Cabage, Township Engineer,
spoke briefly regarding Austin Commons II. He will be contacting
MDEQ to see where is the issues are at. Jessica Ping-Mills was
present and spoke briefly on current Washtenaw County issues.
Jessica would like to see an expansion of County Road Commissioner
seats to 5 versus 3. She has been campaigning for Mr. Carl Girbach.
County is still working on balancing the budgets.
