May 11, 2009

  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on May 11, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees R. Prehn and R. Marion. Four other citizens were present.

  3. Mr. R. Prehn led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mrs. J. Gordon, that the agenda be corrected by increasing consent agenda item (5c) by $1,767.50 for Saline River Ridge reimbursement to Washtenaw County and Postage for tax bills; (15) Dennis Wojcik.

  5. Mr. R. Prehn moved, supported by Mrs. J. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved as corrected.
    1. Approved minutes from April 13 regular meeting.
    2. Receive Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approved Accounts Payable in the amount of $40,035.19.
    4. Approved PA116 Willow Road/Ahrens.
    5. Approved Brine Contract with WCRC.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. No comments.

  7. Supervisor Marion commented on the following:
    1. Saline Township to donate $100.00 to the Saline American Legion; Flag. Mr. R Marion moved supported by Mrs. J. Gordon. Ayes 5 Nays 0.
    2. Charlie Robison - The Board decided that the rocks/boulders that were placed at the Oak Hill Cemetery will need to be removed they are not in compliance with the current ordinance. A letter will be mailed to notify Charlie Robison.
    3. Gary Acree - Additional information to follow from Jessica Ping; County Commissioner with regards to an Urban Credit.

  8. City of Saline Resolution- Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mr. R. Prehn that the resolution passes. Ayes 5 Nays 0.

  9. Voting Results - results were read to the public.

  10. State Police - were not able to attend.

  11. Trustees report - A chairperson to be appointed to help the committee with regards to the Road Millage Tax. Additional information to follow at the June meeting.

  12. Zoning/Building Administrator reported that the current homes that were damaged by fire are in the process of being cleaned up. Dean Girbach may approach the Planning Commission with regards to a Cement Crushing Operation within the township.

  13. No Fireboard report.

  14. No Township Hall Manager report

  15. Dennis Wojcik Chief Deputy Drain Commissioner attended the meeting to give a general over view on the drains located in Saline Township and the process of drains. Answered questions that the public had.

  16. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
