  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on November 10, 2008 at 7:35pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees Bohnett and R. Marion. Twenty six other citizens were present as well as Township Planner Pennington, Township Engineer Cabage and Township Attorney Fred Lucas.

  3. Mr. Bohnett led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett that the agenda approved as presented. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.

  5. Mrs. Baldus moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the consent agenda be approved as presented.
    1. Approve minutes from October 13 regular meeting and October 21 special meeting.
    2. Receive Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approve Accounts Payable in the amount of $13,459.01.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. No citizens commented.

  7. Township Engineer Dan Cabage reported on Case Road cell tower culvert situation. Sprint Company has resubmitted site plan to the Washtenaw County Road Commission as of October 8, 2008. No permit information was available yet from the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

  8. Resolution 2008-006 Adopt Saline Township Master Plan was read by Mrs. Baldus; Mr. R. Marion moved to adopt Resolution 2008-006, supported by Mr. Bohnett. Roll call was taken. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Resolution adopted.

  9. Supervisor Marion commented on the following:
    1. Washtenaw Road Commission received notice that Fedlkamp Road Bridge did not receive any state funding for repairs. Commission is expected to temporarily fix the bridge for normal automobile traffic by the end of the year. Township is not responsible for any expenses regarding the temporary fix.
    2. Joint meeting with the Saline Planning Commission was held on Monday October 27 at 7:30 pm to discuss 4 member steering committees. Planning commission appointed 2 members Neil Bohnett and Charles Rankin. Motion by Mr. R. Marion, supported by Mrs. Gordon to appoint Robert Prehn and James Marion as 2 Board member representatives to complete the 4 member steering committee. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
    3. Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett to appoint Willow Link as an alternate to the Saline River Greenway Alliance group. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
    4. New informational flyers will be published and mailed to residents with their winter taxes. Additional and updated information will also be on the web page.

  10. Mrs. Baldus reported on the November 4th, 2008 election results. Approximately 70 to 73% of voters turned out that day. 869 voters came to the polls while there were also 200 absentee ballots.

  11. Trustee reported road complaints regarding Braun Road, Mooreville Road and Maple Road. Road Commission has been responding very quickly to road maintenance issues. Commission has been late in scraping roads due to the fact that winterizing all vehicles has taken extra time and taken away from routine road maintenance.

  12. No Zoning/Building Administrator report.

  13. No Fireboard report.

  14. Township hall manager reported dehumidifier is junk; replacement will be necessary in the late winter early spring time. Thank you to Ed for all his hard work in maintaining the Township Hall. Mr. Paul Gumtow will be taking over his position.

  15. Numerous comments were made about the retiring Trustee Neil Bohnett. Thank you to Neil for his 30 years of governmental knowledge.
